Superyacht sales reached 442 units in 2025, up 12% year over year, according to BOATPro data, with the mega-yacht (60–100m) and gigayacht (100m+) categories leading the growth and hitting a three-year high in the first half of 2026.
Pricing tells the more striking story. Data from Camper & Nicholsons shows final asking prices for mega- and gigayachts jumped 33% and 38%, respectively, over the past year — well ahead of overall market volume growth, pointing to intensifying competition for the small pool of vessels and yards capable of delivering at this scale.
The buyer profile behind the surge is notably different from the segment’s traditional base of industrial and finance wealth. A new cohort of AI-sector billionaires is increasingly active at the top of the market, a shift with direct implications for yards concentrated in the mega- and gigayacht segment, including Lürssen and Feadship, who are best positioned to capture this demand if it holds through the current cycle.
